OLD COLONIES ADOPTED BY MEXICO A/G

 

Sunday Oct 19 was a special day:  the Dedication of our first church plant and Christian school.  A rough estimate of 200 people were present.  This included both national and district leaders from the Assemblies of God of Mexico, local pastors, and missions representatives from seven local churches of Chihuahua City.   The service was held in the building we are currently renting for these ministry purposes.   (Thank you to churches from Chardon, Youngstown Calvary, Brunswick and Galloway for your help in remodeling the building these last several months). 

Keynote speaker was Cesar Casillas, the National Missions Director of the Mexico A/G.  This was followed by a presentation by Cruz Velazquez, the National Home Missions Director, stating that the A/G of Mexico has officially adopted the Old Colony Germans as an unreached ethnic group within their country.   This was a tremendous encouragement to us to know that we are laboring with the official backing of the leadership and the churches in this country.

Javier Ramos was appointed as the South Chihuahua District Coordinator for this mission while Alex Orozco was commissioned as the missionary director of the Christian school.   Plans are under way to begin construction of the new school in February.

These laborers are an answer to prayer to help us fulfill the greater vision God has given us.   We will have greater opportunity to begin visiting other regions of Mexico where the Old Colony settlements can be found with the purpose of church plants in each region.   At the same time, we will concentrate our efforts in training leadership and future pastors for each work that is raised.

 God has done great things these last several months. We believe this is a result of prayer and intercession that of the teams that have visited us as well as your faithful prayers back home.   Your prayers partnering with our planting equals the increase that Christ promises.
